The program is multi-finder friendly. Mult-finder friendly does not mean background processing. There is no programed in screen refresh for background processing.
To return to the menu from computations, click the mouse. Only one selection uses the keyboard to return to the menu; the selection "mouse click" which uses the mouse as an input sensor.
Some menu selections do not appear if other than a Mac II is used. ( Sorry but, unless color is used, several features would require complete reprograming in black and white and only in color are they interesting.)
Several of the color menu selections are slow. For example the gray scale under the color menu. This is because the plotted points are only darkened if used more than once. Eight chances at the same space will bring it to black. Lesser numbers will show a gray scale. The menus of Newtons equations and the Mandelbrot set are slow. ( 2-4 hours) There is a lot of math involved but the wait is worthwhile. A faster (much faster) version is on the way.
The menu "parameters" are settings for the shapes. The numbers: .60; .5; .33; .25 are the the percent moved from the last point. ( Remember that in obtaining order from chaos, a set of points is picked and starting at a point, the next point is in the direction of the next random point. The distance you go toward the next point is set by the parameter number settings.) The consecutive setting disallows or allows the next point to be a adjacent point to the preceding point but only five or more points are used. The diagonal setting works in a similar way, using only points on the numerically opposite side of the object assuming there are a even number of sides.
The menu labeled "you" was an attempt to determine the fixed intervals of human clock rates. Unfortunately the Mac has a fixed interval of mouse sensing and disallows any accurate feedback.
The predefined shapes are interesting to experiment with under different parameters. There is a free hand drawing mode to allow you to experiment. A maximum of ten sides is allowed in the free hand mode.
For a color display of the shapes, the color menu's "assume" mode always assumes the color of the point that was chosen. The "progressive" mode is just that: progressive.
